Sjöstugans Hotell & Camping

Everyone at the site was so friendly, and the facilities were clean, modern, and well looked after. There’s also a handy shop on site. We had a lovely camping trip and would happily come back.

We were relieved we’d booked just one night. The location is pleasant, but the place seems to rely on that instead of putting effort into quality. For 500 SEK without electricity, the poor value is outrageous, and this was easily the worst place we stayed in Sweden. The concept feels geared toward getting as much money from tourists as possible without giving fair value in return. The toilets were filthy, there was no toilet paper, and the bins were overflowing. It was clear that regular cleaning wasn’t happening. We definitely won’t return.

The rowboat and bike rentals are nice, and there are things for kids to do too. The location deserves four stars, but cleanliness gets three, and the place could be maintained better. There’s often only one person at reception, so you can end up waiting. It’s okay if you have plenty of time.

It’s a wonderful spot by the water, but you can’t really enjoy it because the caravans are packed in like containers. The old stugas are in poor repair, and the washing machines look like they’re from the 69s and are disgusting. Prices are unbelievable for what you get. There’s partying all night from a certain ethnicity. It’s overpriced and in bad condition overall. Avoid it if you can.
