Copperhill Mountain Lodge

The food was very nice, and the bar was good. The server from Beford was really helpful. There's loads of seating in the stunning, huge hall, plus plenty of clean, well-stocked toilets. The games on floor 1 are fun too. Only thing I'd change is making the fireplace bigger.

We flew from Dubai to Oslo, connected through TRD airport, then rented a car for the easy, straightforward two-hour drive to Copperhill. If you're visiting in winter for the first time, bear in mind that daylight is very limited, with sunset around 2:30pm, so plan drives for daylight. The nature around the hotel is magnificent, and it really captures the winter feel. Our stay during the Wim Hof Winter Expedition in December 2025 combined adventure, relaxation, and comfort in a way that made it truly memorable. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Manager Magnus at reception for such a warm welcome and for explaining everything we needed to know. Ellen, who we booked with by phone, was also very helpful and can arrange a taxi from the airport or connect you with the taxi company if you prefer. The hotel is cozy and welcoming, with spacious rooms, an excellent breakfast, and a very nice spa. We stayed in the Copper Suite, which was comfortable, though I needed a firmer mattress to sleep properly. We checked in a day before the retreat began, and that went smoothly. It was a memorable stay, and we'll definitely return. Highly recommended!

The hotel itself is impressive, with architecture that's both amazing and cozy, like a cabin on a huge scale. But being put in a half-ready basement room made me feel completely unwelcome. I was there for one night with work. My colleagues got really nice rooms, while mine was on the ground floor facing the road. It hadn't been prepared: there were no towels or toilet paper, and it was dusty. When I raised it, someone left half a pack of toilet paper at my door, without towels or even a kind word. I had to ask twice more for a towel and eventually got one small one. It felt like I was asking for something impossible. Guests travelling as one group should be put in rooms of a similar standard. Don't give one person a room that's only half ready.

Ellen at the front desk gave us great recommendations, and Alex looked after us at dinner and made some lovely drinks. Emilie gave an amazing massage. The spa and massages were incredible, the restaurant was great, and the wine selection was excellent. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. We had an incredible time and can't wait to come back in winter to ski!
