The location is the big draw. You’re straight onto the slopes during the day, and it’s a nice walk away from the village in the evening. We had a wonderful stay between Christmas and New Year. The room was small but still comfortable. The food was fantastic, and I really don’t understand the reviews criticizing the half-board dinners. For the price, they were exceptionally good.

The restaurant out the back serves the best lunch on the mountain in Åre. It’s also a lovely place to stop for coffee or hot chocolate. Get there early, though, or you might be waiting for a table. The staff are lovely.

We had a great breakfast, especially the pancakes. They were the best I’ve had at any hotel. The view is beautiful, and the staff were welcoming and very nice. I’d recommend staying here.

Sarah deserves a special thank you for going above and beyond when my daughter fractured her wrist. The whole team were great, and the location made for a fantastic ski holiday at Fjallgarden Hotel. We had an amazing time and would recommend it 100%!

I’m a big fan of this hotel. The food and après are great, the staff are lovely, and getting into the centre of Åre is easy. For a ski holiday, it worked well, but the hotel is only on red slopes. That suited the experienced skiers in our group; a few others had to take the bus back for the first few days. Not a problem, but useful to know. The smaller rooms are really tiny, so I’d pay extra for a bigger one.
