The lake-view room has a lovely morning outlook, but I wouldn’t recommend it to light sleepers. The street is right outside, and passing cars come straight through the old walls and thin window glass. The hotel is in an old building among some of the picturesque parts of Strängnäs, near the lake, with clean, stylish rooms and friendly, helpful staff who communicated well before our visit. Breakfast was pretty good, though nothing memorable. The price feels high for what you get. I’ve had better stays for a third less.

It’s right across from the lake and at the foot of the cathedral. The place feels very private, informal, and personal. Drinks are self-serve, with a simple sign-in list, and you can take breakfast down to the garden. We also recommend the micro brewery on the opposite side of town.

A lovely little hotel, basic but clean, with excellent Wi-Fi and a nice breakfast. The staff were very helpful. Just be aware that after 7pm, support is by telephone only.
