Igloo Are

A cosy little café tucked away from the crowds, just right for a short break.

The five-course dinner at igloo Åre was absolutely the right choice. The food was so good, with some fun new flavors and a Jämtland touch. I’d been hesitant about it beforehand. My girlfriend and I weren’t sure what to expect and were a bit worried about sleeping in the cold. Håkan, our host, and his partner were incredibly hospitable and explained how to stay as comfortable as possible overnight. It turned out to be the best sleep of our whole week in Åre. Since we left, I’ve recommended the experience to at least ten people.

The hosts were so attentive and always checking that we were comfortable. We’ll definitely come back. With amazing food and a jacuzzi 900 meters above sea level, this was one of the coolest and most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced, and something I’d recommend to everyone. A once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The hosts were incredibly nice, and we had a lovely five-course dinner. We also swam outside in the snow and wind, then took a snowmobile down from the mountain. Sleeping in an igloo was magical and not cold at all. The whole experience is one I’d highly recommend!
