Junosuando Guesthouse

We spent a great week here as a family. Mikael arranged a sauna outing to 'camp 3 rivers' for one of our nights, and the hosts, Mikael and Maya, were very kind. They also lent us snowshoes and cross-country skis for fun outdoors. Inside, there was plenty of room to relax, a fireplace, and a well-equipped kitchen. The village only has a small ICA grocery store and a pizza fast food restaurant, but that was certainly enough. A wonderful house in a perfect setting, highly recommended.

I came back to Junosuando Guesthouse for a second winter, and I know I'll return again. The frozen river is right outside, with no light pollution around, so it's a lovely spot to see the northern lights. You can also walk five minutes to the local swimming pool for a swim and some sauna time. The village has the remote Lapland winter scenery you'd hope for, with striking sunrises and sunsets and skies that are often blue and pink. Inside feels warm and homey, with lovely decor. The bedrooms have big fluffy duvets and breathtaking window views, and I slept like a baby every night. The kitchen is properly equipped and spacious, so after skiing in the forest or on the frozen river, I enjoyed cooking with friends and eating together in the main room. The fireplace and piano there add to the cozy winter feel. Maya and Mikael were helpful and great company too. Anyone thinking of visiting Swedish Lapland should consider staying here.

Nice, clean rooms in a lovely house. It works well for a big family.
