We rented an apartment for eight, and everything was perfect. There was a small sauna in the bathroom, a place to store ski gear, and parking outside. The only issue was our car engine wouldn't start in the -20C cold.

There's a lift, which is handy when you're in ski boots and don't fancy the stairs. The place is near both the slopes and the center, and only a short walk from the train station. It's reasonably priced for a group, with okay facilities. One odd thing: just two keys for an apartment with eight beds. Bring your own sheets if you don't want to use a sleeping bag or pay extra to rent them.

Åre village is cozy in winter too. In summer, it's a nice place to wander, though there's a lot of bicycle traffic.

It's a pretty nice place to ski, but finding the house is tricky since you can't see the numbers. You'll have to ask someone where it is.

In summer at least, the price was good. The apartment was clean and nice, and close to the lifts.
