The area is great, and the lady who owns the place is nice. You’re surrounded by nature, and we loved the cat that came by every day. If you stay here, give him a pat from us. We called him mr Chunky with thumbs, and he appreciates a bowl of water. ♥️ We were here for five days, and the beds were good. I wish the showerhead were different because showering hurt, and both the shower and sink leaked. The TV was about the size of a 10-inch iPad, which was okay, but the sofa was a pull-out bed and uncomfortable to sit on.

A very nice and quiet place to stay in a lovely cottage. Once we found the right road, it was easy to get there, though the GPS didn’t know the location. My only wish was for Wi-Fi so I could look up a few things for the trip.

The views are nice, and the area is quiet. I’d say three or four stars, with nothing really wrong, though the bathrooms could use improvement and getting to the top floor is a challenge for accessibility.

The cottage itself is beautiful and could feel cozy and comfortable with some cleaning and maintenance. As it was, though, I was extremely disappointed. I’d booked with confidence because the reviews were so high, but the stay didn’t live up to them. The accommodation was very dirty when I arrived, with dead insects everywhere and a strong musty smell. There was mold in the fridge and microwave, and the oven looked like it probably hadn’t been cleaned either. The bathroom window had no curtain, so cottages across the street could see us showering. That room also smelled musty and had traces of mold. The mattress was filthy, and the pillows had large, disgusting stains, including blood. The advertised TV wasn’t there. Some things were my own fault: the location wasn’t ideal, and I found there wasn’t much to do nearby. I should have researched more. I’d booked two nights and contacted the owner about the problems. She apologized and said she’d refund the second night, so I left after one night. A week later, the money still hadn’t arrived, so I contacted Booking.com. After that the host stopped replying to messages and didn’t refund me, despite having assured me she would. It felt incredibly dishonest and disrespectful. I lost a lot of money and was extremely disappointed. My advice is to avoid this place. There are plenty of other options that are cheaper and better maintained. I’d thought the host wanted to do a good job and care for her guests, so her lack of empathy was upsetting. It’s a shame, because with a bit of cleaning and maintenance the cottage could be lovely, but as it stands I can only advise against booking it.
