Bastedalens Herrgård

I don't recommend this place. We booked through Airbnb, and once we arrived, the description and photos didn't seem to match what we found. We were then asked to pay extra for towels, and after checkout there was another charge for cleaning. They explained that it was a "hostel," not a "hotel" or "appartment." We hadn't been told about these charges beforehand. It felt like prices were being pushed up while the customer experience was being cut back. I've never encountered this anywhere else. Such a shame, because the location is nice and the housing is okay. This isn't how I expect to be treated.

What a beautiful place.

Bastedalen manor is so peaceful, with room to think and take care of yourself, and the accommodation is good value. Deer run through the apple grove outside the cottage, and the surroundings feel genuine. Bastedalen and Harge uddar are a paradise for the soul, truly my paradise on earth. Being able to charge the electric car was a huge plus. Pia and her partner are warm and friendly without intruding. I'll keep coming back.

The natural setting and lovely outdoor areas make this a cozy, old-fashioned place. It feels genuine and authentic, and it's peaceful, with very friendly service. A real gem.
