We rented bikes, which was great, and dinner at the restaurant felt really special. The room was cozy and nice, though on the small side, especially the bathroom. Breakfast was really good, particularly the dessert, whose name I couldn’t tell you.

After a long road trip, this was a great last-minute choice. We booked the last room available very shortly before arrival. The location was so good, the room had style, and breakfast was amazing. There wasn’t parking right in front of the hotel, but we could park for free just around the corner.

I’ve had some of the best food in Sweden here so far. You can tell a lot of care goes into preparing it. The homemade sourdough bread and flavoured butters change each night, and the combinations can be surprising but work really well. Highly recommend!

Dinner was a lovely extra to an already amazing island visit. The restaurant serves Michelin-starred food that brings out the best of Öland, with ingredients from nature, farms, and the wild. Even the plates are made locally. Thoughtful, adventurous cooking, and every dish felt exquisite.

Just reviewing the restaurant: we chose the small “Lilla Alvaret” menu and really enjoyed it. The canapés, corn soup, langoustine, hake, and both desserts were all delicious. It’s a shame the place lost its Michelin star some time ago. I hope they earn it back.
