Hotell Persnäs

The rooms and location were nice. Food and drinks felt a little expensive.

Everyone gave us a warm, friendly welcome, and the hotel felt fresh and pleasant. Our room was very small, though it did have its own little patio. There’s a pool, but it isn’t for small children. Breakfast was good, and so was dinner at the restaurant.

The pizza was very good, but the rest of the food left plenty to be desired. Breakfast was a bit dull, with overripe strawberries, just one kind of bread, and very few options for people with allergies. The food also felt overpriced for the level on offer. We came as a family with two small children and barely had space in the deluxe room once the extra bed was unfolded. There was hardly any floor left. The website should give clearer information about room sizes when booking. We had also booked a room for our dog, but there was no food or water bowl, which we always get when booking with a dog. The hotel has potential to be good, but some things fall short. Welcome and service were okay, though it was odd that staff chose to vacuum while people were eating. We stayed at Persnäs Hotell.

The wine selection was good, with carefully chosen bottles from a few producers that worked well with the food. The pizzas were tasty and generous, and everything was very well prepared. A relaxed, enjoyable dinner and a real gem in northern Öland 😀
