Solberga Gård

The children felt free to explore Solberga Gård on their own, which meant we parents could properly relax. It's a beautiful, laid-back place, and we highly recommend it. We stayed here for two years, the last in an apartment in the converted barn. The communal kitchen made it easy to meet other guests, and meals often turned into bigger or smaller get-togethers. Some evenings there were even parent and child football games. Our kids quickly made friends each summer and spent their days together around the farm. Between the playground, football pitch, huge swing, treehouse, library, animals, and the converted barn, there's lots for children to discover and enjoy. We also had time to read, chat, or have a second or third coffee. Cycling towards Borgholm with the kids was a highlight, as were trips to the north of the island by bus or car. The nearest family-friendly beach is just a 5-10 minute ride by bike. The places to stay are comfortable and set up for families, with what you need for a great holiday. On the lovely island of Öland, the warm, attentive people who live and work here are what make it special. Stefan, Meike, and their team made both the children and adults feel at home right away.

We spent two lovely weeks at Solberga Gard in summer 2025 with our three children, aged 5, 8, and 11. The spacious, beautiful farm has animals and plenty of room for the kids to play freely. It's also a good base for bike trips to the beach or inland. The friendly hosts shared lots of tips and recommendations for the island.

The kids had so much to explore from the first day, with animals, play areas, climbing trees, a library, and plenty of other children around. They made friends quickly, and we loved our two weeks in August 2025 at Solberga Gård. We stayed in an apartment in the "Manor House." Stefan, Meike, and their very friendly team gave us a warm welcome, and their care and enthusiasm for the place were clear right away. The Manor House communal kitchen made it easy to chat with other families, while there were also quiet corners when we wanted privacy. Bikes are available to rent by the week if you don't bring your own. There are great rides nearby, including a short path down to the beach, and the farm's central position on Öland makes day trips to either end of the island easy. We enjoyed it enough to book another two weeks here for next summer as soon as we got home.

Stefan, his family, and the team were always there when we needed them. Thanks so much, we'll be back! The farm shop has homemade treats and ice cream, and the rental bikes make it just a few minutes to the beach. Öland also has plenty of interesting places to visit. The children loved the large grounds, treehouse, enormous swing, playgrounds, new indoor football pitch, and animals. Each morning a horse greeted us at the fence by our apartment door. Kids from the other families quickly became friends and played together into the evening. Adults could find quiet places to unwind or spend time with other families, and the weekly campfire evening was a real highlight. It was a wonderful holiday for all ages.
