Rosenfors Vandrarhem

My holiday was ruined. I booked three months ahead but missed the unusual request to pay a week in advance. I'm not sure how often that happens. Booking.com emailed me on the day to say I had until midnight to pay. Since it was the weekend, I wasn't checking email that often, so they canceled the booking. I called the hotel the next morning and got a completely indifferent response. The woman couldn't give a rats…. No stars. I don't know what the hotel is actually like.

We booked a room a month before we arrived, but when we got there, not a minute earlier, we were told it had already been taken and they had no other room for us. A room reservation is a contract that a hotel is legally obligated to honor, but they didn't. The worst experience.

The rooms were dirty and smelled strongly of mold, and the toilets and showers were very dirty with lots of mold too. The place is in very bad shape, with maintenance seemingly neglected for years and years. Customer service was poor, and it was overpriced. I can't recommend it to anyone. Other guests I talked with said the same. Sorry I didn't take more pictures.

With 10 rooms sharing two bathrooms upstairs, the setup already felt difficult. There was no air conditioning or circulation, so the only option was to open the window toward the medium traffic road. The walls between rooms were thin enough to hear every word from the neighbors. The floors creaked loudly when you walked, and the doors couldn't be closed without waking the whole house. Bring earplugs if you're desperate enough to stay here.
