Best Western Plus Savoy Lulea

The spa had two jacuzzis, which we enjoyed, but the sauna and one of the special showers were out of order. The conditioner, body lotion, and shower gel bottles there were all empty. Our room for two was quite small, and during the hot weather the air conditioning couldn't keep it cool enough. There were some nice extras, like complimentary hair conditioner and body lotion. The hotel was clean, had a pleasant atmosphere, and was well located, with parking in front. Dinner's burger and fries were soaked in oil. At breakfast, the fish and meat platters were in a warm area, so I didn't feel comfortable eating warm fish. The rest of breakfast was acceptable.

The staff were so friendly and helpful throughout, and they made me feel welcome. Breakfast stood out, with lots of delicious choices that were fresh and nicely presented. The gym was clean and well equipped. The room decor felt a little dated, but the room was clean and the beds comfy. I had a fantastic stay and would happily come back.

We stayed during a heat wave, and the AC didn't work as expected. The staff were pleasant and helpful, though, and offered to lend us a fan. Breakfast tasted great and looked lovely, beyond what I expected. The lobby and restaurant were modern and nice, and the room was good, but there wasn't a fridge. We parked in the hotel's own garage for a reasonable 180 Sek/24h.

Parking right in front was easy and cheap, and I noticed there was also indoor parking at the back, though reception didn't mention it. Maybe there are limits on car size or spaces? Could be useful in winter. The prices seemed reasonable for a comfortable new hotel. Breakfast food was as good as at any Best Western. One breakfast staff member seemed cheerful, while another ignored guests. A smile wouldn't hurt, even with the Swedish mindset. The building is new, but our room wasn't very clean, with a stained carpet and a spot on the table. The bathroom was clean, to be fair. Our back-facing room had no view, though the city center isn't especially pretty either, with the look of an average US, Alaskan, Canadian, or Russian town. That's not the hotel's fault. The “Midnight sun” brought some light.
