The Orangerie is a charming place for a drink or aperitif, but the food was a letdown for the price. I wouldn’t have more than one dinner there. The hotel itself is lovely, nicely decorated, and the staff were very friendly. At checkout, though, the price was different from the one given at booking. The owners also came across as unprofessional and quite rude after they left part of the payment off the bill. They sent several pressuring emails asking us to pay. We tried to pay as quickly as we could, despite issues with our foreign bank, and they didn’t even thank us in the end, even though the original mistake was theirs.

The Christmas table dinner was beautifully arranged in a lovely building. My husband went with a couple of friends, and the group was especially pleased that the staff made a personal-sized lactose-free Janssons for one guest who is lactose intolerant. The food was delicious, and the dessert table had mini portions of ris a la Malta and creme brulee, so there was still room for a little something even when you felt full. I’d love to see the place in summer.

Hens and roosters wander through the gardens, which was a treat for the children, and the owners’ dog, Boss, quietly keeps an eye on things and likes sharing his home with guests’ pets. Benjamin and Tove have lovingly made this beautiful old Manor House into a special, family-friendly B&B with a fantastic restaurant. The country setting feels like yesteryear, and the staff are friendly. I spent a week touring southern Sweden and enjoyed staying here every morning and evening. I can’t wait to come back at Christmas for the well-known festive evenings, with traditional Swedish food served by warming fires in the Manor House.

Such a beautiful place. We visit every summer.
