My dad has paddled this route for the 4th time, and we still find new places to camp overnight. We rented a canoe and followed one of the pre made routes. The crew were great too, especially assistant manager Urban, who drove an hour to bring us a replacement paddle after we broke ours. Oops.

The place itself is really nice and quiet, and would be good for a relaxing break, but we couldn't enjoy it the way we'd expected. When we arrived, we didn't feel welcome. The first thing we heard was which areas we weren't allowed to use. I understand the need to prevent disease from spreading, but guests should be told about this properly, especially when an email has already been sent as the booking confirmation. We also found a dirty sock in the previous guests' bed and an old bread package under the sofa bed. Making customers feel welcome and valued matters, even when it's a small group, and that really affected our stay. The girl working in the dining room was definitely pleasant, five stars for her.

We got a great night's sleep in the twin room during our one night stay in winter. The location is beautiful and the rooms are great. We didn't eat there, so I can't comment on the food. I'd definitely come back in summer.
