Bryggan Fjällbacka

The room we got had a pretty boring view, and honestly it felt very average inside. Coming in from the back by the stairs also made the place feel more like a guest house. There are two hotels with the same name, so make sure you know which one you’re booking. This one faces the sea, though I heard the other is more popular. We didn’t get a room on the view side. The suite on the floor should give a much better feel.

It was really crowded, so finding somewhere to sit was hard, but the service was very good. They warned us about the wait for food, and it took only about a third of the time they’d estimated. I had the vegan burger with vegan cheese, vegan mayo, and a double patty, and it was the best burger I’d had after a road trip of mostly burgers and falafel. The vegan carrot cake was tasty too, and a good-sized portion.

The sea view, blankets, and heater made a lovely combination, and the staff were so kind. I had a really nice dinner here. The fried cod with prawns and boiled potatoes was great, as was the salmon in sauce. The desserts were fab too. Would recommend!

The view and atmosphere were amazing when we stopped for coffee and a light lunch. The food was less impressive: the croissants were several days old, and we waited 45 minutes for pizza.
