The friendly welcome and the whole atmosphere made this place special. We arrived with our trailer at the end of December, without booking, and found the campground buried under fresh snow. The owner cleared a spot straight away so we could park without a problem. There’s plenty provided, from electricity, showers and laundry facilities to a BBQ hut and gear for activities, including snowmobiles and snowshoes. We rented snowshoes for a hike, went cross-country skiing with some other lovely people we met, and enjoyed the wilderness. You can also rent well-kept cottages throughout the year if you don’t have a trailer or motorhome. Thanks for your kindness and such a great stay. We’ll be back for sure.

The washrooms were spotless, with one shower and one toilet, and there’s also a washer and dryer. The German host family was really kind, and they even brought out fresh homemade rolls each morning. It’s a very remote, peaceful spot in the forest, with about six pitches and four lodges. We saw plenty of caribou around.

We had a great stay and would love to come back, maybe in winter next time. The owners were so friendly and helped us get settled, and dogs are welcome. Getting there took a while because the road was bumpy and full of potholes, but it was worth the drive. We saw lots of deer roaming along the way. The house was beautifully made, with care put into every small detail. As far as I remember, the German family who runs the place built all the rental houses themselves.

The little fire hut was a lovely place to chat and cook at the end of the day, though it got cold in the evenings even in August. There are just a few camping pitches, so it’s sensible to call ahead, but they seem willing to make room if you turn up, given how remote it is. The family sells reindeer meat products and bakes rolls. You need to want a place this far off the beaten track, but I think it’s worth making the trip. The German family running it clearly love the area and can point you to hikes for summer or winter. Camping was good value. Stock up before leaving the main road, about 45 minutes away, since there’s nothing else nearby.

There was plenty of space when we got there, but the camp guard was rather inflexible and we couldn’t stay with our campervan. It’s over 30 km along a dirt and gravel road to reach the place.
