Hotell I Gävle

We only needed a simple, comfortable place, and the service made the stay. A few days before our short-notice trip to Gävle, I called and spoke with the manager, Lina, who was very friendly, helpful, and efficient. When we arrived a couple of days later with one more traveller than planned, they quickly looked for a larger room. It was still occupied, so they found us another one, upgraded us to a nicer room, included free parking, and made the whole change easy. The hotel itself is clean and no-frills. I’m giving it five stars for the way the staff handled everything, which mattered more to us than the facilities. I’d recommend it for a straightforward, comfortable stay.

Parking was easy, and the city centre is nearby. Breakfast was modest, but it had everything we needed. The bed may have been the best one we’ve slept in at a hotel in ages. Thumbs up for this place.

The staff were so helpful that they even added vegan options to breakfast when I asked. The rooms are comfortable, and while breakfast is fairly minimal, what they do serve is good quality.

The windows are difficult to open and shut, and the rooms are small, though okay. Breakfast has lactose-free dairy products too. They could cut down on plastic, for instance by replacing the single-use plastic egg holders.
