Waterfront Cabins

We stayed four nights in a studio apartment at Waterfront Cabins. It’s so spotless that it felt like staying in an Ikea showroom, the budget kind. This was the cleanest hotel room or apartment I’ve ever stayed in, and I think the studio was fairly new. I hope housekeeping keeps up the good work. The kitchen had plenty of equipment, and you could live here comfortably for weeks if you needed to. The furniture is basic, but it covers the essentials: a place to eat, a sofa and coffee table, shelves and good general storage. The one real downside was the beds, which were rock hard with a wafer-thin topper. There’s a washer-dryer in the bathroom, but a small drying rack would have been nice.

The loft bed area was awful, only suitable if you’re four or five feet tall. I really wonder who thought that design was a good idea. I ended up sleeping on the soft bed on the floor. The room was also freezing, and the heating only blew cold air, so I was better off turning it off. I’d booked three nights but cancelled the other two after the first.

We stayed at Waterfront Cabins for 90 days, and choosing it was one of our best decisions as newcomers to the country. It felt a bit expensive at first, but with the housing crisis and the risk of scams, it was absolutely worth it. We arrived to a fully equipped, clean and comfortable cabin where we could unpack and rest right away without needing to buy anything. The location worked really well for us, close to Nordstan for shopping and Lindholmen, where my university is. We eventually found student housing and moved out smoothly. Our whole stay was stress-free, and our full security deposit was returned within two weeks. I’d highly recommend Waterfront Cabins to anyone new to Gothenburg who needs an easy place to stay while looking for permanent housing. Thanks to the Waterfront team!
