Cool place.

I asked for a shower curtain and toilet seat about two weeks ago. At 10:45 pm a guy showed up to fix them, but he had no replacement parts. He fiddled with a screwdriver on the seat, realized he couldn’t fix it, and left. He said I could replace the items myself by picking them up at reception, but apparently that didn’t work either. Reception says it can only be done after 10:30 pm, when even the kitchen is closed. They inspect rooms weekly, so why not replace things then? I’ve heard people discussing bedbugs in the elevator, though I haven’t noticed any myself. The shower curtain issue was dealt with after I wrote about it here. It seems like you only get anything done if you complain publicly. Now there’s another problem. There’s an older woman on the 6th floor whom I try to avoid, to the point where I can barely use the kitchen because she keeps starting arguments. I live on the 5th floor, and now she’s started hanging around in my hallway. I told the staff, but they won’t help me calm myself down. She can stand there screaming murder threats in the hallway without even getting a warning. She has no reason to be on the 5th floor, but if they’re going to let her mentally and verbally attack me, we’ll probably soon reach the point where I have to calm myself down. There is no law in need. I recorded myself talking to the staff about this, and I’ll post the video on the site and here if nothing improves. I’ll contact the municipality too, because they shouldn’t be using places that create destructive conditions for residents. Update: today they turned off the option for honest reviews. That makes this seem even more like a frivolous procedure.

BED BUGS! WARNING ABOUT BED BUGS! People living there complained about bedbugs on several floors, but the staff didn’t want to clean properly, probably because of the costs. I didn’t see bedbugs myself. The shared toilets and showers were dirty and broken from floor to ceiling. Some rooms have no windows, ventilation is poor, and it’s noisy. A prison cell has a better standard. There’s no TV or TV channels. The shared kitchen on the 6th floor was dirty and worn out, with none of the pots, pans, or other things a kitchen should have. Most of the staff were rude, some very rude. There was an Asian girl at reception who was really nice.

Hotell Månen felt welcoming, and I had a fantastic stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the shared area was good for socializing. The staff were caring and professional, and made sure quiet guests were comfortable. They have a clear approach to keeping the place safe and calm, and noisy guests aren’t allowed to stay. It really helped create a positive atmosphere. I’d recommend Hotell Månen if you want somewhere quiet and safe. You feel looked after here.
