We lost track of time during our weekend there. The gardens were gorgeous, and the sauna gave me one of my best sauna experiences in Sweden. The food was delicious, prepared at a time that suited us, even though it had to be improvised because of the Booking.com mix-up. Somehow Booking.com hadn’t told the hosts we were coming in July, but they got everything ready for us very quickly. Their welcome alone made the stay worthwhile. They were the kindest hosts I’ve had on a trip, and worked hard to make the place feel calm and positive for all kinds of guests. The rooms are lovely and completely clean. They have the charm of old furniture and walls, but everything works as if it were new. I’d recommend this place to anyone driving through or wanting a break from a busy life. In my view, it deserves five stars across the board. Thanks so much to our hosts for the weekend.

The sauna raft on the river and the different ways to swim, in the pool and various tubs, were real highlights. There’s a big green space around the place, with a friendly family feel, and the staff are both service-minded and kind. It’s new and still getting started, so I imagine the food and service will soon be running perfectly too. There are clearly ambitions here.... 🙂
