Hotel Heden, BW Signature Collection

The kids loved the breakfast smoothie, and I was happy it was lactose-free so my son could have some. I was especially pleased with the ginger shots. We booked an awesome suite: the loft had two single beds, a TV of its own, and a safety gate so the children could move around up there safely. It's in a great spot, within walking distance of everything, with lots of cool little restaurants and bars in the area.

The staff were friendly, and the receptionists tried to help as best they could, but I'm never coming back. I found nail clippings and other mess from previous guests in my bed. I reported it at reception so it could be cleaned, then returned at the end of the day to find the same mess still there. A colleague had blood splatters on the bathroom wall. We eventually got different rooms, but those weren't clean either and smelled of sewage. The hotel is a bit outdated, which would usually be fine if it were clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, it was anything but clean.

Great staff and good value for money. The hotel is well located, and breakfast and dining there were strong points.

The rooms were spacious and built to a high standard, with useful basics like a safe, drink-making facilities, and an iron in each one. Breakfast was spot on, with a great selection and staff ready to help. We had a lovely time, and one person in our party had stayed here before, so it's easy to see why he wanted to come back. It's about 15 minutes from the centre, bus station, and, most importantly, the theme park. The hotel is large, with a surprising number of rooms and long corridors. The bar and dining area are comfortable and thoughtfully laid out. Highly recommend it.
