Scandic Winn

The staff were exceptionally kind throughout our stay. Special thanks to everyone at reception, especially the senior receptionist who helped us in the morning when a taxi driver tried to charge us four times the normal fare. A lovely hotel.

Breakfast was a little disappointing compared with other Scandic hotels. The croissant, for example, wasn't served properly. When the hotel is busy, breakfast gets really congested with so many guests in-house, so it's not the place for a relaxing morning. The room was okay, but there was no kettle or fridge, so we couldn't make coffee or store food. The hotel is in the city, and street noise carries until late at night.

The staff were wonderful, kind, and very service-minded, and breakfast was fantastic. We could even sit in the bar with our little dog. The room needs updating, but the bed was super nice, and the curtains blocked out the light perfectly. Parking in the garage was a great upgrade. The location inside Karlstad was interesting.

The food was just okay, and I would've rather eaten somewhere else, though that wasn't up to me. I stayed for a week with all three meals included. The family room was on the large side, which was nice, and it was clean. Everything worked as expected. The staff were especially friendly and helpful, more than I would've expected.
