The food and wine are first class, with local ingredients and a rustic feel that still has finesse. The sommeliers know the extensive wine list inside out, and if you stay a few nights, they’ll help you pick a couple of bottles to enjoy over your stay, keeping them properly stored between meals. The service is five-star but suits the place. They seem to anticipate what you need, and nothing feels like too much trouble. It’s all warm and heartfelt, like being looked after by a grandmother or a friend treating you to a special birthday. Never fussy or stuffy. The building is an architectural masterpiece, full of cozy little corners where you can sit with a book or have a cocktail or glass of wine. Two hours after arriving, we were already talking about when to come back. I can’t think of a thing that needs improving. Looking forward to our next visit.

The hikes were the highlight for us. On all three, Corrine (sorry if I’ve got the spelling wrong) chose routes suited to our experience and proved knowledgeable and welcoming. Niehku also supplied the needed gear, including backpacks and hiking sticks, along with lunch and care packs each day. We spent four days and three nights at Niehku on the long weekend hiking package, and came away feeling recharged. Each breakfast and dinner brought excellent food on par with some of the finest restaurants we’ve visited, with superb service. The team made us feel welcome from day one through the end, and were friendly, accommodating, and attentive to every detail. Thank you for the farewell gift! The rooms were stylish, comfortable, and cozy, and the hotel, converted from an old locomotive interchange, is beautifully preserved. We had an amazing stay and would love to return. Thanks so much, Niehku team.

The ski touring was superb, and Jonas, we love you! The hospitality was world class, with staff who were friendly and down to earth. The food was exceptional, and the wine, olalal. We’ll be back!

The hiking weekend brought fantastic hikes with guides who were skilled and passionate. Everyone at Niehku goes above and beyond, and that care and dedication show throughout the stay. The food was outstanding, and the staff were exceptional. Niehku Mountian Villa is one of the most special places I’ve traveled to. So much thought went into the lodging, and the beauty and excitement of its location match that care. You won’t want to leave. Staying here will be a highlight of your Sweden trip, and of any trip. It leaves you with lasting memories of a truly special adventure.

Loved our stay at Niehku and would come back in a heartbeat. Our favourite, Annie, made beautiful breakfast pastries, and the food and wine pairings were excellent. Local fishing expert Thomas also gave us great recommendations, and they even cooked a couple of the lovely trout we caught.
