Ullångers Hotell och Restaurang

The outside looked a little questionable, so the place was surprisingly okay once we got in. Our superior room was large and clean, with a bathroom in good shape. Rooms away from the highway are quiet. The beds were a touch hard but fine for this price range. Staff were professional, and some were friendly. Dinner at the restaurant was good, while breakfast was okay. One thing: staff smoke out back, and sometimes the smoke drifted into our room when the window was open.

The rooms were spacious, but quite dated and not cleaned to a high standard. There was no shower gel or shampoo when I wanted to shower, so I had to go to the gas station to buy some. The hotel itself was okay, but I couldn't pay through the app and had to settle up there. At checkout, the tip option came up. I selected no tip, and the cashier recalculated the total to include one. I declined again, and his tone changed and he became quite rude. That made me think it might be why payment through the Hotels.com app wasn't working. For what I got, the price was very high. It definitely wasn't worth the money.

The bar is simple and functional, nothing fancy, with mid-range prices and a decent selection. They have several bottles of local Höga Kusten Whiskey. Staff were friendly, and I'd visit again if I was in the neighborhood.

We only ate at the restaurant, and the food was a bit disappointing. The burger wasn't good, though we liked the beer and pizza. Prices are a little high, and vegetarian options are very limited, with nothing vegan.
