The staff are lovely, and the music is great, with karaoke most weeks. It's a good pub for drinks that don't cost as much as they do at other nearby places.

The price felt a little high for what we got. The room was okay but very bare, and the shared bathroom and shower were just acceptable. At least the staff were friendly, and breakfast at a nearby café was quite good. It wasn't a bad stay, just overpriced.

I'd booked a room and had an email confirmation, even though it was fairly last minute. Then, two days before I was due to arrive, the hotel called to say they were overbooked and couldn't fit me in. Their only suggestion was, “maybe you could come another day.” With just two days' notice, that was really unhelpful.

The “special” hamburger in the bar was huge, enough to keep you full well into next week, and worth waiting for. Depending on when you arrive, you may need some patience, but the staff are always ready to help if something comes up.

I never saw or heard anyone else, so if you don't like being around people, this could suit you. My single room was small but comfortable, with its own shower and bathroom. The cleaning wasn't great, though it wasn't a total mess either.
