The rooms felt premium after fairly recent renovations, though a loose, faulty outlet took away from that a bit. The bathroom looked fresh, but some details seemed chosen more for looks than usefulness. Breakfast was extensive, as you'd expect in Sweden, but didn't quite match the best I've had elsewhere. There was just one employee handling check-in and checkout, so it might get slow when several guests arrive, though I didn't run into a problem.

Breakfast was a letdown. The bacon was cooked but not crispy, and staff blamed the supplier, though crispiness has nothing to do with who supplied it. The room didn't have a proper work table, and getting around was difficult with all the stairs, especially since the lifts don't reach many rooms. The bathrooms need redoing: remove the slippery tubs, which have nothing to hold onto, and put in showers. They could learn from Elite Park Hotel in Växjö.

The hotel sits right on the main city square, and the rooms were clean and the hotel very nice. Breakfast was varied, with good coffee and vegan and gluten-free options. Friday and Saturday nights can be loud, with crowds, restaurants, bars, and music in the square. It didn't bother me, but families with kids or anyone wanting an early night should keep it in mind. I'd stay again when I'm back in town.

The location was great and the place was quite nice, with friendly staff who could also come across as a little rude. I put that down to an international vocabulary barrier. I'd stay again, though I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it to friends or family.
