The service is good, and it's a very kid-friendly hotel. Getting into town takes about half an hour on foot or 20 minutes by bus, so it's a bit out of the way. The beds are too soft, and the kids' extra beds are kind of crappy, though at least they have them. Both issues are manageable, and I'd still recommend the place.

The rooms felt luxurious and were clean, and breakfast had plenty of choices with enough tables. When we arrived, the staff kindly asked if we wanted food and booked the restaurant for us.

We often stop at Scandic Hotel in Lund on trips between Germany and Sweden. It has a relaxed, motel-like feel outside the city centre, with a big parking area and usually a room even at short notice. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is good, and the rooms are clean and practical. The parking setup has become a serious drawback. Parking used to be free and part of the stay, but since this year the whole lot has been handed to an outside surveillance company. Guests must register their personal details and pay, and a missed registration or mistake can mean a fine, with no warning or flexibility for paying hotel guests. That feels hostile and suggests the hotel puts its deal with the enforcement company ahead of guest comfort and trust. It's baffling for a place that otherwise seems to care about service, and it's left me disappointed. Scandic management should reconsider: penalizing your own guests won't build loyalty.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with a broad selection, carefully presented food, and a clean dining room. The breakfast manager seemed to keep things running smoothly and the quality was good. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff attentive. Scandic Star Lund also has a modern, welcoming feel and sits conveniently near Lund’s city center. I had an excellent stay and highly recommend it.
