Elite Hotel Ideon, Lund

The staff were pleasant and did their job, but the ingredients seemed to have a real quality problem. For 485sek, I found the julbord (Christmas buffet) very disappointing. The food tasted boiled, the fish was very dry, the ham seemed processed and low quality, and dessert was mediocre. There was no special touch from Tarek Taylor either. I even asked what the idea behind it was, but nobody could tell me. I wouldn’t recommend it for the price.

The Tareq Taylor Julbord was a real letdown. For 435kr, the food was hospital grade, and the ingredients were the biggest disappointment. Nothing felt homemade. I’ve got nothing against the staff or the people who cooked it, but whoever organized the event let people down badly. It felt like a massive scam. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Save that money and have brunch at Bjärred instead.

NOT RECOMMENDED We expected a room worth 2K SEK with a pleasant view, but ours looked onto office spaces. People were working and looking toward us from just 6-7 meters away. When we asked to move, reception offered a room facing the parking lot instead. We asked to speak to the hotel manager. The receptionist first said the manager was in a meeting. After I sent him a photo of our view, he called the hotel and said he was at home on sick leave. The hotel’s supervisor was also absent and at home, and refused to speak with the guest by phone. Is it Elite Hotels' procedure to have no manager present during daytime at a 178-room hotel? When the absent manager and supervisor learned what had happened, they were so arrogant they didn’t even bother to talk to guests. Management’s refusal to speak with us or resolve the issue made it clear that customer satisfaction wasn’t a priority. We rate this hotel 2/5, don’t recommend Elite Hotel Ideon, and demand compensation for this depressing accommodation experience. We took photos of the hotel, including the view from our window and the dirty reception area.

The rooms were nice, the beds comfortable, and the interior tasteful. Still, this one sits around the middle of the Elite Hotels I’ve stayed at. It’s rather remote, and reception disappointed us when we asked about checking in a little early because our child was sick. The staff member wasn’t very helpful.
