Hotell Lycksele

The room itself was perfectly okay, but dealing with the staff about payment was exhausting and strange. I paid on site at checkout, as expected. Three months later, the hotel called to say I hadn’t paid for two nights. I sent clear photos of my payment and phoned to resolve it. It turned out they had undercharged me by 400 SEK at checkout, and they promised to write off the missing amount. Six months later, they contacted me again asking whether I’d paid for those nights and whether I could prove it. I explained I’d already sent the documentation and discussed it with them, and that the matter should be closed. Even so, they called a third time and demanded the 400 SEK again. I have no problem paying it, but the whole thing was handled carelessly and the communication was poor. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this hotel.

A fresh budget hotel with a comfortable bed and a small but good breakfast. The shower felt a little cramped. Check-in without staff worked fine: they sent the details and code by text.

We never met any staff, but the information sent by email and text before our stay was enough. The rooms were fresh and clean, the beds really comfortable, and the breakfast was small but very good. I also liked that they focus on products from local suppliers. We were very happy with our stay and would gladly return!

We couldn’t reach anyone by phone, and nobody was there when we arrived to check in at 4:30 PM, despite being told the place was staffed until 5:00 PM. There was a note on the counter saying to text a number for the room key, with a reply promised before 9:00 PM. At breakfast, the woman serving stood in the doorway glaring at us, looking as if she wanted us to leave.
