Room # 2, decorated around King Fredrick, was beautiful, though the large aerial photo of Manhattan's South Side from sometime in the 1940's felt a little odd in there. It didn't bother me during my one night, but the 19th century room and NYC skyscrapers don't really flow together. The owners are a devoted husband and wife who live in the building and are often around making sure things run smoothly. The hotel itself is delightful, with very friendly staff, spectacular dining and TV rooms, and an opulent, tasteful interior with a lovely river view. Breakfast was better than at most Swedish hotels I've stayed in. The sliced bread and high-quality butter were yummy, though the rolls weren't tasty. As this is Scandinavia, bring your own spices or sauce if you want more than salt, pepper and Heinz sachets. There's also free hot water, coffee and tea, plus scrumptious cake the owner bakes himself, as well as cookies and biscuits.

We had a comfortable room in this lovely vintage-style hotel right by the river. The interior is gorgeous, and the breakfast buffet is small but thoughtfully selected. A lovely stay.

The owner welcomed us warmly and shared lots of tips about her hometown. Our bedroom and beds were comfortable, and we had a beautiful view. Södra Hotellet is a fascinating place with a lot of history, in a key location in Norrköping. Thanks again, Annie!

The breakfast was a highlight. You choose the cold items yourself and can order whichever hot dishes you want. It's a personal, interesting hotel in a good location, and I recommend it. The rooms aren't especially large, but each is individually decorated. The bathroom could use a facelift. I liked the place and wouldn't hesitate to return. A fridge in the room and a full-length mirror would be extra pluses.
