In summer, you can sit outside and watch the big Finland ferries go by at around 8 pm. The food, drinks, and service are all first class, and Furusunds Värdshus sits in a lovely spot by the sea in the northern Stockholm archipelago. Furusund has a long past as a stop for ships travelling between Stockholm and Finland. Since the 19th century, it has also been a popular summer place for Stockholm artists and writers, including August Strindberg and Astrid Lindgren.

We had a great time playing Shuffleboard in the bar. The food was exceptional, and the setting is lovely. Take a walk around the island before or after lunch or dinner.

There were nine of us out for a work night, and it turned into a really good dinner. The food was excellent, the beer tasted clean and fresh, and the staff were friendly and easy to talk to. I’d definitely return, 10/10 all round.

We only stopped for lunch, but the food was great and made with high quality produce. You can watch the chefs at work in the open kitchen, and there’s plenty of boating to look at from this lovely spot. It’s a bit off the beaten path if you’re in Stockholm, but worth the trip.

The restaurant has lovely views, and the breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. We also had dinner there, including a children’s buffet at a very good price. From right in front of the hotel, you can catch several boats to the archipelago. The hotel itself is super cute and charming, and the staff were very friendly. Cleaning was the weak point. Our room was spotless when we arrived, but nobody cleaned it on the second day. On the third, they made the beds and replaced the towels, but dust was still blowing around all over the floor.
