Hostel Utö

We were in the harbor with our sailing yacht and had dinner at this beautiful restaurant. Since it was my husband’s birthday, I picked a table in the inner veranda. It’s a lovely, quiet room, beautifully decorated. An older couple were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary there too. The dinner was excellent and the service perfect, a place for special occasions. We highly recommend Utö Vardshus.

Breakfast in the main building was a generous buffet with everything, including the best scrambled eggs, a waffle maker, and oranges you could squeeze yourself. We also had dinner at the restaurant: good beef fillet with the usual sides, tasty chips, and generous portions. We stayed in one of the lodges. It had a main room with a double bed, a sitting area with an armchair and two-seat sofa bed, plus a mini kitchen. The IKEA furniture and kitchen items looked good, and everything was comfortable, especially the bed. There was also a separate single bedroom and a wet room with a shower. I can’t comment on the other rooms around the site. The lodges have some accessible features, including wide doorways and a fairly level front entrance, though the decking is less accessible. There are lots of activities for young people near the harbor. We’d be happy to return.

A lovely quiet garden and beautiful sea views. The food was tasty, and the staff who served us were gentle and thoughtful. Prices are similar to those in central Stockholm. Fantastic restaurant, recommended!

The views are divine, and the staff were lovely. Comfortable accommodation and excellent food too. Be sure to explore the beautiful coastal trails nearby!
