First Camp Ånnaboda-Örebro

The balcony view was amazing, and it had a grill. Inside, the rooms were spacious and very clean, with a well-equipped kitchen, working heaters, and plenty of blankets and pillows. Having a sauna in the bathroom was great fun. A few things were awkward: the closets had hangers but no shelves, so storing clothes was tricky. The supplied frying pan didn't work on the induction stove, and there was no tool for sweeping water off the bathroom floor. After someone showered, the whole room stayed wet unless we tried to dry it with a floor mop.

There are way too many lights, and they're far too bright. You can literally read a book in your rental in the middle of the night. There aren't any trees to provide shade either.

After cycling 1,500 km from Abisko, my partner and I arrived in the evening and had no issue with cabin number 2. The next day was meant to be a rest day, so we moved to the hotel's suite and had lunch at the restaurant while waiting for the key. We spent the day relaxing after that long ride. At 7:15 pm we went back to the restaurant for dinner and were bluntly told it was closed. The door clearly said it was open until 9 pm, and when we got the suite key we'd been told last orders were at 8 pm. We were travelling by bike, staying in a suite without a kitchen, and set off again at 5 am the next day, so we were left without food. We'd found Swedish people helpful all along the journey, and this was the complete opposite. The service was diabolical, and I think this was by far the worst place I've ever stayed. They should be ashamed of how they treated customers. I can't comment on the mountain biking at the resort. I understand it's an MTB site and many people review the experience around that, but that wasn't part of my stay.

This place sits in beautiful nature, and with the covid pandemic going on and only a handful of staff, they did a fairly good job maintaining it. I rented a single room for the weekend, but the soap dispenser was faulty and empty. A friendly woman at the desk gave me a bottle of soap to make up for it. I'd say it's better suited to camping. I had to ask the staff about breakfast, which they then arranged for me, and there wasn't a vegetarian option by default. If you're vegan, forget eating.
