Hotel Emma

The staff were super friendly and shared lots of tips for seeing the city. Our room was large and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious, with homemade bread and cakes plus plenty of ingredients from Jämtland. We stayed two nights at Hotel Emma and had a great experience. We'd come back if we visit Östersund again.

I've stayed at the hotel several times, and the staff are amazing: personal, helpful, and always cheerful. The rooms don't have a five-star golden touch, but they're clean, well looked after, and big enough for my needs when travelling. The main downside is parking. I drive an electric car, but there's no way to reserve a space with charging. I have to hope a public parking spot in town is free, which feels like a gamble. Maybe ICA and the hotel could find a solution. I'll be back anyway.

Our puppy was welcomed with delicious snacks, food and water bowls, a blanket, and a towel. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable for all of us. Breakfast was impeccable, with local delicacies as well as all the usual dishes. We and our pup highly recommend hotel Emma.

The location is right in the middle of town, with everything else we needed just a short walk away. Downstairs is the best place to eat in town, and hotel guests get a discount there. The hotel also offers discounts at several local shops and restaurants, and has free fika and fruit during the day. Service and location really do justify the cost, even if the price can feel high at first. The building is old and the interiors are a bit mismatched and makeshift, with thin walls, so the construction and furnishings may not seem worth the price on their own. It's a friendly, tidy place, and breakfast is great.
