I felt really uncomfortable sleeping in a mixed dorm. I was the only woman with four men, so I kept one eye open and an emergency whistle in my hand. There are no women-only dorms, and no hostel staff are there at night. The reception also closes very early. It seems some people live there, which felt awkward. The kitchen, especially the ovens and fridge, was pretty dirty. The women's toilets and showers had mold on the walls and curtains, and it looked like they hadn't had a deep clean in a while.

I stayed here at both ends of my recent trip to SE. The hostel is really comfortable and close to downtown Östersund, with plenty of restaurants and things to do and see nearby. I'll definitely come back.

It feels more like a college dorm than a hostel. There's a well-equipped kitchen, which was a plus, but only two shower cubicles, with flimsy curtains for doors. It's about a 10-minute uphill walk from the town center. They don't provide towels or bed sheets, and charge an extra 100SEK per person for them. For a short stay, a hotel in the town center may be better value.

The staff were very friendly, and I really enjoyed my night here. The hostel has a nice vibe, room no. 7 was very spacious, and there are lots of locks between the outside and your room. Even in just one night, I appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and all the common rooms. The toilets and showers were clean and good, though the men's shower could use more space for clothes and a bit more privacy than its flimsy curtain.

Everything was very clean, and it's a great place to stay in Östersund, including with kids. There's a big terrace, a nice TV and play/living room, and a huge, well-equipped kitchen with a dedicated fridge space for each room. We could use the washing machine for free. The location is great and the staff are nice.
