Best Western Hotell Ankaret

I was very happy with my stay. The hotel is budget friendly, with open parking outside and a restaurant inside. Breakfast was included and decent, and both the room and toilet were neat and clean. I stayed two nights in a single-bed room. It was very small, but perfectly good enough for one person.

We had a really good time here, even with corona. The room was very clean and the beds were nice. Breakfast was very good too, apart from the coffee machine. The staff were perfectly nice and spoke good English. I don't understand the bad reviews: there was no AC, but AC wasn't advertised. I'd recommend the place, even though the city isn't the most entertaining.

My stay left me very pleased. I arrived in the middle of the night, so I asked the hotel to arrange things. They sent a link for early check-in on site and a code for the entrance. The room was ready, and I picked up my key at the front desk when I arrived. The hotel feels new and refurbished, with a bit of charm. I found it easily by following Google Maps. I had a single room that first struck me as a student's apartment, but once I got over the shock, it seemed quite spacious for one person. It had a bed, TV, lamps, a small wardrobe, toilet, and shower. Wi-Fi and parking outside were free, though the Wi-Fi coverage varied now and then. Breakfast was the usual continental spread of coffee, tea, bread, cornflakes, and yoghurt, with melon, grapes, and croissants as well. One annoying thing: there was nowhere to put your plate while serving yourself. You had to hold everything or make several trips back and forth, which isn't easy when one hand is busy buttering bread.

The service was extraordinarily good during my ten days here. There was always fresh coffee and homemade cake or pastries in the lobby, and breakfast was good, though Swedish bread is always an experience. The location is nice, but the nearby industrial plants are always part of the town's atmosphere. There isn't a restaurant at the hotel. The suggested nearby Harry's wasn't worth recommending, while the very close US-style diner Camilla & Putte served excellent meals, but only during the day. I also wondered why there was no cleaning over the weekend. I had an upgraded room, but it showed wear. The carpet needed cleaning or replacing, and the bed felt a bit old, though it was okay. The bathroom was spacious and very nice. The TV was far too small by modern standards for an expensive upgrade, and the channels were worthless.
