I waited outside in the freezing November cold for an hour after arriving at 3, ringing the bell and calling, but nobody came to check me in. In the end I booked somewhere else at the last minute. The employer called at 4:40 and said her boss hadn't heard the phone or noticed us outside reception. They apologized for the inconvenience.

We stayed in both the yellow courtyard house and the red courtyard apartment. They were nicely laid out with plenty of space for five people in each, and the interior was pleasant. The location is right in central Rättvik. Still, this felt more like a hostel than a BnB. We brought our own bedding, since renting it came at a fairly high cost. Breakfast was left in the fridge, and we had to prepare it ourselves, then clean up and do the dishes. Getting hold of the host was difficult. I emailed three times at the supplied Gmail address without a reply. A phone call did get answered, but sorting out a change to our booking took a long text exchange. The host seemed to have trouble with the booking system and still asked for extra payment although we'd already paid. There was also a sewage smell in the bedroom, apparently from the pipes or radiators. We didn't report it, but the host should know so it can be fixed. I hope the service improves, or the accommodation is described differently instead of being called Bed and Breakfast in a luxury apartment.
