Stöde Camping

We booked Stöde Camping at the last minute and found it gorgeous. A very kind lady welcomed us, gave us a huge lot because of our dog, and was really helpful with information. Thank you! Highly recommend.

We stayed one night in a hut in September. It’s a decent place to stay while traveling, though maybe not the most beautiful place on earth. One thing to watch: it can get warmer inside than you expect, so don’t turn the heating all the way up when you arrive. If you’re getting there a little late, go to the supermarket first or bring food with you.

The area itself is clean and nice, but we were disappointed. The website made it seem like a family camping place with lots to do, including a swimming pool, beach, pool table, and other activities. That felt a bit like false advertising. There is a pool, but it belongs to the local council, not the camping, and costs extra. The same goes for the pool table. The beach also isn’t what you might picture when you hear the word. Another thing that wasn’t mentioned is how close it is to the railway. Trains run during the night. They don’t come very often, but they do wake you up.

The campsite looks much better in the photos than it does in real life. Its best days seem to be behind it.
