Veit and Stephanie were amazing hosts, friendly, helpful, and attentive to details. Schwedenalm has a fabulous lakeside location, with access to the lake and views of it right in front. There’s a supermarket just 3 km away for immediate needs, and Rättvik is a 40-minute drive, with activities for children and older visitors, plus a beach and pier. Around the area you’ll also find places to explore for nature and history, along with hiking and cycling. We had an incredible week.

Our children played with theirs, went sledding, and had snowball fights, and Veit shared great ideas for things to do nearby. He even lent us his ice fishing gear, though we didn’t manage to catch a fish. When we arrived with a flat tire, he immediately helped get it repaired. We received a fantastic welcome and had a lovely holiday. The cottage is in a quiet area, with a forest behind it for nice walks. Highly recommended!

The apartment was fantastic, clean, well furnished, and had everything we needed. The property and surrounding area are beautiful and peaceful, with plenty to do: swimming and fishing in their own lake, using the hot tub, canoeing, boating, and walking in the deep Swedish forests. My dog Maya and I spent a week with Cornelia and Veit, two very helpful, friendly, and super cool hosts. We felt comfortable from the first minute. I highly recommend staying here, and we’ll be back!

The forest starts just behind the apartment, so there are lovely long walks right outside. And the water is right there too, perfect for getting up and jumping in. The apartment is charming, and Conny and Veit are wonderful hosts: warm, easy to reach, and always happy to help with tips for fishing and outings. Their barbecues are a lot of fun. The kids are adorable, and Pepper is such a cuddly dog. Schwedenalm felt like paradise to us. We’d happily come back, and it deserves more than five stars.

We stayed for 2.5 weeks, and the long trip was absolutely worth it. The chalet has a lovely rustic Swedish feel, Wi-Fi, and everything we needed, while the area itself is a dream. Conny and Veit were always there for questions or if something went wrong, and even made a special patio door although the other way would have worked too. They and their adorable children were so kind, and Pepper has a special place in my heart as well. I brought two very large Bullmastiffs and they were welcomed without any fuss or prejudice. I’ll remember the fun evenings fondly. I’d love to return. Veit & Conny, stay just as you are! Love, Jenny and the gang 😉
