Malin, the owner, was incredibly kind and helpful. You can tell she really cares about making guests’ stays as pleasant as possible. We came for our honeymoon, and this was easily the highlight of the trip. We booked the Wild at Heart 24H package, which included a dinner basket, a wood-fired hot tub, canoeing, and breakfast and lunch from the "forest pantry". My husband and I are both vegetarians, and the food was fantastic and filling. The pantry had vegetables, lentils, beans, eggs, and plenty of other ingredients to cook with as we pleased. There are several fireplaces at the lodge, so we could eat near other guests or somewhere more private. We wondered if 24 hours would feel too busy, but the stay was relaxing and felt much longer. We had time to unwind and settle into the routine there. We’d love to return for a longer stay, though we can absolutely recommend this package even if you have less time.

Hanna was wonderful, and our toddler adored her. The lake is stunning, surrounded by pine forest, and our little one especially loved picking blueberries. We had an amazing time. A must do in Scandinavia.

It’s a great way to try camping without having to bring all the gear. Just know there’s no electricity on site. We didn’t realize that and arrived with dead phones, then had no battery for three days. It would be helpful to have emergency power banks or something similar there.

The dinner package was generous and tasty, and we especially enjoyed the sauna. Malin, the hostess, gave us wonderful, personal service, and the whole stay left us wanting to come back. You do need to be somewhat drawn to the outdoors to get the best from the place, but with access to the water and the level of comfort they provide, I think it could suit anyone. It feels like being in a fairy tale, in a romantic way.

The sauna by the lake is a must, especially if you follow it with a refreshing swim. We stayed one night and regretted not booking longer as soon as we arrived. It really takes you back to basics, but everything is thoughtfully organized and provided. There was plenty of dry firewood even after heavy rain, and breakfast was delicious and well stocked. Do come, ideally for two nights!
