This place needs renovation. It looks as if nothing has been repaired since 1970, and it’s dirty and broken. I don’t understand how they can charge people so much in this condition. Think twice before staying here and consider another place.

I really enjoyed staying at Stadshotellet Söderhamn. The staff were super friendly, the room was clean and breakfast tasted good. I’d definitely come back!

The staff were incredibly helpful and nice, and I mean no disrespect to them. But the hotel and its rooms badly need refurbishment. Bringing them up to a high standard would take a lot of money, and given the location, I’m not sure that investment would be worthwhile.

The breakfast is excellent, but the hotel’s old-fashioned design gives it an atmosphere I didn’t find very pleasant.

We were glad this was only a one-night stop. The place is run down, old and outdated, and the online photos make it look quite different. The courtyard in the middle reminded me of something you’d see in Chernobyl. The staff could use some hospitality training. My wife and I had just finished a 24-hour trip from the States. After trouble with our rental car, we ended up taking a train, but the hotel couldn’t help us arrange a taxi or any other ride from the station. We’d told them we were travelling with our 3- and 6-year-olds, lots of large luggage and two dead cell phones.
