I’m giving stars for the “dogs welcome” sign. You hardly ever see that in dog-unfriendly Sweden. But they’re closed during normal business hours, which would’ve earned them just one star if not for the sign.

The bus stop is right outside, and the central location makes shopping easy. There’s a little bakery three minutes away, handy when the cafe is closed for winter. In winter, snow scooters sometimes drive behind and around the property, which can be a bit annoying, but it’s only now and then. I had a short, lovely stay in this sweet old house, which has been nicely renovated. My small room was neat and clean, the host was nice, booking was easy and flexible, and the Swedish and Swiss guests were friendly and communicative. I only wish I’d had a chance to see the museum, which is open in summer. I didn’t stay long enough to ask whether a quick visit might be possible.

The local wraps are made with local ingredients. I had one with salmon, cloudberry, and cheese, and it was amazing. They also make waffles and pancakes. It’s an interesting place to visit, with a museum, shop, and cafe in an old railway building. Stop here if you’re passing along the E45. You won’t regret it.
