Best Western Kom Hotel Stockholm

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable, but ours had no window 🥺. With my son, who has autism, that was difficult, though we managed. We also couldn't turn down the heating, so it got uncomfortably warm even with a fan. The hotel itself is beautiful, very clean, and has a cozy, welcoming feel, with friendly staff. Lovely place, and I'd recommend checking about a window and heating controls before booking 🤣.

I arrived at 00:41 on Monday night and found the front door locked with no receptionist around. The sign said to call a local Swedish number. I tried about ten times using two different dialing apps, but nobody answered, and I wondered if the number was wrong. I looked for another number on the hotel site, but it loaded in Swedish; asking for English sent me to the global Best Western site, which wasn't relevant. Eventually I found a contact link on the Swedish site that opened my phone dialer. A minute later a receptionist came out and let me in. I waited at the door for 15 minutes. A basic doorbell would have saved a lot of frustration. There was no phone in my room or sign with the wifi password, just a note saying to visit www.komhotel.se to contact reception. The downloaded instructions said the password was on the key chain, but there was nothing in the key folder. The next morning I asked and got a new folder with the password printed on it. A QR code in each room could make both wifi access and contacting reception much easier. There was no refrigerator in the room either. I know Stockholm can get freezing, but a fridge is still useful in any weather.

4.5 stars. The gym's huge, spread over two floors, and there's a sauna too. Staff were helpful, the room was nice, and I slept okay. Breakfast is available widely and was fine. The soap, though, had a horrible fragrance in my opinion, please change it. Snack choices at reception aren't great, but they have a few random gifts and some touchscreen gloves. Have a nice day. The location made getting around easy, close to T-Centralen and walkable to Gamla Stan. The outside might give the wrong impression, because inside the rooms are modern and spacious. I added photos of mine. There’s also a gym and sauna. Bakary at the front desk made the stay special. He welcomed me warmly and gave me all the information I needed when I arrived. He’s the heart and soul of the place. This may be the first time I’ve given a stay five stars. Highly recommend it, and another five for Bakary.
