Lord Nelson Hotel

I stayed five nights in January 2026, and the location was perfect, close to the Nobel prize museum, the Royal palace, and scenic views. There are bridges within walking distance, and the katarina elevator is about 18 minutes away. Cleanliness wasn’t top notch, though, with stains on the towels. They also don’t provide room service every day. It’s all shit.

The themed decor is great, breakfast service was passable, and the staff were all very friendly. It’s a fantastic spot in central Stockholm, within walking distance of attractions and in a very tourist-friendly area. The room was small but clean, and you’re mostly paying for the theme and location, both of which were superb. I could hear people through the wall, especially those moving around upstairs, though I’m not sure every room is like that. Street noise was low. One morning the garbage service woke me, but that wasn’t the hotel’s fault.

The hotel’s naval theme is fun, even if ships aren’t really your thing, and the street is full of shops. The big tourist sights are walkable, but inside it was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was good: boiled eggs, bread, turkey, cheese, vegetables, yogurt, and juice. I stayed in a standard single in February. It’s small but laid out well for one person. I’d want a larger room if sharing. The bathrooms were great, with heated floors, strong water pressure, and reliably hot water. The room felt a little cold to me, though I tend to feel cold.

This was the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever seen. As soon as I arrived, the pillow smelled awful, like someone had slept on it for weeks without washing it. The hallway was filthy, and the elevator was both shaky and dirty. I left because I didn’t want to risk getting sick, and the front desk agreed to a full refund. A few days later they charged me for one night, saying it had been clean. It feels like they’re taking people’s money that way. I had to book another hotel at the last minute for a higher price because of the wrong reviews I’d seen on their website. They deceive people like this. The reviews make it look okay, but this hotel is filthy. Do not book this shit hotel if you care about your health and money.
