Radisson Blu Airport Terminal Hotel, Stockholm-Arlanda Airport

We chose this hotel because we had an early departure, and it was a pleasant surprise. It’s directly at the terminal and easy to reach by train. Our room was quiet and very comfortable, with a view of the terminal and runway. We had dinner at the terminal restaurants and even managed a little shopping walk that evening. Breakfast starts early, which made for a good start to the morning. The reception staff gave us a warm welcome. See you next time.

The room was okay and quiet, but cold. Paying in the evening to make checkout quick in the morning wasn’t possible. The policy only allows a pre-authorisation, so you still have to go to the counter at 4:30 am and lose precious minutes. That’s ridiculous for an airport hotel, where people often need to leave early without fuss. Also, take care when booking: there are two Radisson Blu hotels “at” the airport. One is between terminals 4 &5, and the other is five minutes away. Having two nearby hotels with identical brands seems like a recipe for booking mistakes.

We were offered 15.000 points to our member account via booking.com, but I asked reasonably for 50% compensation instead because I felt the price wasn’t worth the experience. The male receptionist was kind and empathetic when I first called and tried to resolve it. When we called again on 19th of April because we wanted money rather than points, the female receptionist said rudely, “It was already done and decided, we cannot do anything more and you can use the points in other hotels, it doesn’t need to be us.” The words may have been acceptable, but her tone felt disrespectful. I went quiet, said “Ok” after a few seconds, and she hung up immediately. That was rude for someone in a frontline service role. The whole situation took a lot of my time and energy, and they still didn’t offer a good solution. The service was the worst I’ve experienced at a four-star hotel, and it basically ruined our vacation. I hope it improves so future guests can enjoy their stays. We checked in at 1 am. The Mid-night Manager was unapproachable and greeted us with an impolite tone and attitude. He couldn’t find our last name in the system, so when I asked him to double-check because we were sure we had booked this property, he suddenly said, “Man, there are hundreds of Radisson Blue over the world, who knows surely you booked this one.” I couldn’t really sleep after the way he spoke to us. We’d never experienced that before and weren’t sure what was wrong. If you have an early flight at Arlanda airport, this might still be a good choice, but my customer service experience wasn’t at the standard I’d expect from a four-star hotel.

The room was clean, smart, and quiet despite being at the airport, so I got the good night’s sleep I needed. I was only there for a few hours before my morning flight. Check-in was quick and organized after I arrived past midnight, with no queue and no delay getting into my room. The hotel connects directly to SkyCity inside Arlanda. From the lift, it’s a short walk through SkyCity, the airport’s central indoor concourse linking the main terminals, to departures. Efficient and well organized for an early departure.
