Zzz Dreamscape Hotel - Self Check-In & Digital Key

The rooms are lovely, small but practical, and very clean, with beautiful details throughout. There’s a lift as well as stairs. The hotel is on a shopping street full of cafes and restaurants, with a 7-Eleven just steps away, and it’s about a 20-minute walk to Stockholm old town. It has the essentials for a short stay. Public parking is around four minutes away, with an escalator beside it that brings you close to the hotel door. It cost about 610 SEK for an overnight stay. Street parking would have been a little cheaper, but as tourists unfamiliar with the rules or language, we didn’t think the risk was worth it.

The beds and shower were fine, and the idea of a cheaper central hotel meant just for sleeping is appealing. But there are no windows, and the air felt very poor. They need to improve the ventilation. You can hear the instrumental music in the hallway all night, and the doors don’t block sound at all.

I spent over an hour going back and forth to their other hotel, and still never got inside. The self check-in doesn’t work.

We arrived at 4:30 but couldn’t get into the premises as described. I phoned several times and no one answered. An hour later, we finally got a text saying the hotel was unmanned because of staff shortages, and that we could collect the key from a sister hotel 10 minutes away. We picked it up, then walked another 15 minutes back to the dreamscape. It took an hour and a half in total just to get in. We knew there would be no windows, but the ventilation was inadequate and the filters hadn’t been cleaned. My partner had respiratory issues, and the temperature controls came with no instructions. After I emailed asking for help, a reply with instructions took about 24 hours. The poor communication spoiled our side trip to Stockholm. The hotel needs to improve its performance. Tourists deserve better.
