The water park was closed after 10August. We booked through the First camp website, and the tent pitch was only 180kr. There’s a red box by the entrance where you can leave the key card when checking out yourself. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place with plenty of space for the kitchen, toilets, showers, and so on. You can also book bowling and outdoor mini-golf.

Great family fun... The reception is shut when it’s meant to be open, the facilities are ancient, and the shower seems possessed by a demon. Norwegians crank music at full blast from 3 am to 5 am, and on the nearby parking lot, local teenagers act out Need For Speed Tokyo Drift.

The kids loved Sommarland, which kept us busy for a whole day, from 10 to 18. The campsite is right by Fryken, with a nice playground on the beach, and it’s a pleasant spot by a fairly warm lake. The shared facilities could use better upkeep, and the common areas need some updating, but it’s a nice place to stay.

If you’re hoping to sleep, I definitely wouldn’t recommend this campsite. We stayed from 18-21 May, and each evening around 15-20 cars gathered in the car park beside it, making noise until midnight and later. The campsite administration said there was nothing they could do.

This seems like a fairly large campsite in good condition. We only stopped for fresh water and latrine facilities, though, and were charged 50kr without even being given a hose for the water. Other campsites do a better job.
