The rooms were basic and a little worn, though acceptable for a short stay. The location works well for visiting Täby, but don’t go for the view. We got in late and left our rental car in the hotel lot. At check-in nobody mentioned paid parking or asked for the plate number, and we missed the lobby signs. Two days later there was a 500 SEK private parking ticket (kontrollavgift) on the car. Charging for parking seems strange to me, though forgetting to pay was an honest mistake. They could’ve let us pay the ordinary parking fee, but said they couldn’t resolve it because parking management was outsourced to Avarn, Hojab, and SVEA. Those companies seemed shady to me. I understand this is apparently legal in Sweden, but I paid to avoid more fees and trouble through the rental company. I’ll do my best not to book with Scandic again.

Friendly, helpful staff, and there’s a Mer EV charger in the parking lot. This is your standard roadside Scandic, conveniently located by E18, and we’ve stayed twice. On our second visit, after a hot week, the room air conditioning couldn’t quite keep up. It was uncomfortably hot, so we didn’t get a restful sleep.

We only stayed one night before heading on to Åland, arriving late with our adorable little dog. The thoughtful touches in the room were a nice surprise, including a cute doggie treat. Even over such a short visit, we really enjoyed our time there.

My family enjoyed staying at Scandic Täby. The reception areas were nicely decorated for Christmas, and the reception staff were friendly and professional. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, and all the staff working there were great. I can highly recommend the hotel.

The first room smelled of urine, wasn’t cleaned well, and a light came loose from the headboard and fell. Luckily it missed my face, because that could’ve caused a lot of damage. Someone was very helpful when I spoke with them, and I was able to move to another room. Would I stay again? No. Since breakfast costs extra, I’d rather pay for a higher-end hotel and get that experience instead of staying at a Scandic. It’s an expensive breakfast for two slices of toast and a piece of cheese.
